Welcome - WAA Girls Softball Team Liaisons

The WAA Girls Softball Organization is a non-profit full volunteer effort and as such it requires that parents sign up for activities to support running the organization. We appreciate all the support that you give in helping make this a great organization for our girls.
 
Team Liaison:The role of the Team Liaison is to partner with the Coaches and be the interface between your team parents and the WAA Board.  This will free the coaches of paperwork and give them more time to teach the game of softball to your daughter. You will distribute WAA paper work for the team pictures, Red Wing Night, Sponsor coupons, and the WAA Golf Tournament. You will also ensure that parents who have volunteered are notified of the dates they are required to fulfill the obligation and backfill with other parents if there if appropriate. Please see the list below for more information.

Snack List: Prepare the sign up list for snack night, if the team wants snack, so that every parent takes a turn bringing a snack. Don't forget that team snacks can be purchased at the 'Home Plate' Snack Bar right at the Ridge Park fields!  Very convenient and any proceeds go right back into the WAA Softball program making the girl's experience better!  Click Here for information about available snacks, prices and how to order.  If parents forget their snack, they can always go to the Snack Bar to find out what is available for purchase.
 
Team Picture Day Saturday, June 5^th::The liaison will hand out the order forms for the team pictures. You will have these at the beginning of the season. You do not have to collect any money; it will be turned in to the people taking the pictures.
 
Red Wing Night Friday, June 18^th: Game time is 7:05PM, with the Red Wings hosting the Charlotte White Sox. We will be meeting on the first base side by the "Sweet Spot" food station at 6:00PM. The Parade of Teams starts at 6:15PM and there will be Post Game Fireworks!

Remaining tickets are now available at the Snack Bar at Ridge Park fields during WAA games. Tickets, including those purchased online, will be available at the snack bar after June 7th for pickup. Volunteers looking to assist with the Red Wings event are encouraged to contact .
 
Golf Tournament will occur in September: This is a great opportunity for the parents to come out and enjoy themselves at our 8^th annual golf tournament. The liaisons will hand out the registration forms to the parents but will not need to collect them. All money and forms will be mailed to WAA.

First Aid: There is first aid at the Snack Bar. There are pre-made ice packs, general first aid items and an AED.

Officer of the Day: There is also an Officer of the Day at the Ridge Park Fields.
Officer of the Day is any person appointed by the WAA board to act in that capacity. The Name of the Officer of the Day will be posted at the snack bar.
The Coach is the "first responder".

The Coach will:

• Control situation, ie team and spectators
• Assess and treat injury using PRICES (Protection/Rest/Ice/Compression/Elevation) until more qualified personnel arrive
• Contact Officer of the Day
  Fill out Incident/Injury Report

• Assume responsibility from the coach so the coach can resume the game if appropriate
• With coach and parent/guardian, decide if professional care is needed.
• Call 911
• Fill out Insurance forms and collect Incident/Injury report
• Stay with injured player/spectator until qualified help or guardians arrive
